NEW LOOK FOR VP' S 5-GALLON PAILS

VP RACING FUELS | MAKIN' POWER | WORLD LEADER | 5 GAL PAILS

VP CUSTOMERS FAMILIAR WITH THE SOLID BLUE 5-GALLON PAILS DISTRIBUTED BY VP RACING FUELS FOR 20+ YEARS WILL SOON SEE THEIR ORDERS FILLED WITH A NEWLY DESIGNED PAIL THAT HAS UNDERGONE A SIGNIFICANT MAKEOVER.

DECEMBER 15, 2011

SAN ANTONIO, TX (December 14, 2011) Customers familiar with the blue 5-gallon pails distributed by VP Racing Fuels for more than 20 years will soon see their orders filled with a newly designed pail that has undergone a significant makeover. “Our traditional 5-gallon pails served us well with a quality and look driven by functionality,” said Steve Scheidker, VP ‘s Director of Marketing. “They came to be synonymous with VP’s no nonsense approach to quality. However, we concluded it was time to upgrade the pails’ look to support our current brand positioning and better complement the advanced performance characteristics of the fuels they contain.”

“First, the new pails incorporate VP’s current tagline, ‘MAKIN’ POWER!’ and have an unconventional, edgy look in keeping with VP’s position on the leading edge of race fuel technology and our unbridled passion to stay there,” Scheidker added. “This attitude will carry over into our national rollout of VP-branded retail gas stations and C-stores where dealers and customers will be reminded that unlike traditional refiners, VP is not a conservative ‘oil company,’ but rather an unconstrained ‘performance company’ willing to push the edge of the envelope.”

“In addition, the new pail design includes images representative of the wide variety of motorsports VP supports with the best quality performance fuels. This will serve to remind customers of VP’s broad experience in race fuel technology and how adept VP is in transferring technology from one segment to another to yield ever-improving performance across all racing applications.”

“Given that these pails are sold into every segment of motorsports and can be found in pits and garages throughout North America and around the world, they actually serve as ‘billboards’ for our brand,” Scheidker continued. “It only makes sense to leverage that exposure to convey our key branding messages.”

“We’ve received nothing but positive reactions from our dealers who have seen the new pails and anticipate it will only enhance their ability to market VP’s products,” Scheidker concluded. “Importantly, the new pail design will have no impact on the price of our fuels and, of course, the quality of the pails’ contents will remain unsurpassed. We’re confident all our customers will embrace the new design and see it as the perfect container for their fuel of choice.”

VP Racing Fuels is the leader in race fuel technology, with a well-earned reputation for superior power and performance. VP is the Official Fuel of National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) Championship Drag Racing, American Le Mans, World of Outlaws, AMA Supercross and Rally America among nearly 60 VP-sponsored racing series.

In addition to racing fuels, VP’s product line includes SEF Small Engine Fuels for 2- and 4-cycle portable gas-powered tools and PowerMaster hobby fuels for R/C racing.

RACE FUEL TO REMAIN FOCUS WHILE NEW PRESIDENT TAKES BRAND TO THE STREET

VP to EXPAND BRAND NATIONALLY

BURNS TO CONTINUE LEADING R&D FOR RACE FUELS WHILE NEW PRESIDENT TO FOCUS ON NATIONAL BRANDING EFFORT.

AUGUST 24, 2011
SAN ANTONIO, TX (August 18, 2011) VP Racing Fuels, Inc., recently announced an agreement whereby over the coming months company owner Steve Burns will sell his interest in the company to Alan Cerwick, former executive at Valero Energy and 19-year veteran of the petroleum industry.  Cerwick will assume the position of President, while Burns will remain CEO and continue to direct all research and development for race fuel products.

“VP remains committed to leading the industry in race fuel technology and we’ll continue delivering the leading edge fuel products racers have come to expect,” said Burns.  “We have an opportunity to take the VP brand to the next level and Alan’s depth and breadth of experience in the industry will prove invaluable as he undertakes this new initiative.” Cerwick has held key management positions at Koch Industries and was formerly Vice President of Wholesale Operations at Valero Energy. In 2002, Cerwick was integral to the rollout of Valero branded gasoline stations across the U.S.

“I’m excited about the unique opportunity to leverage VP’s 35-year history of providing performance fuels in all forms of motorsports into a national brand of retail gas stations,” Cerwick said. “Racers win with VP fuels every weekend all across the country and internationally. Taking this winning tradition into the consumer marketplace provides unique opportunities for not only the retail gas station market, but also for all of VP's racing partners.”

“VP plans to utilize this expanded market to provide more exposure to untapped markets for its partner series, tracks and race teams. Putting more fans in the seats helps all of the racing industry grow, ” Cerwick continued. “Retail gas stations will have the opportunity to expand their offering into new areas of revenue, including ‘VP100,’ a 100 octane street legal unleaded racing fuel, and an expanded product mix to include VP-branded fuel system cleaners, octane boosters and our recently introduced SEF Small Engine Fuel for 2-cycle and 4-cycle portable gas-powered equipment.”

“ As our concept comes to realization, we will be working with our racing partners to find new and unique opportunities to expand the thrill and excitement of racing to our consumers at the retail gas stations ,” Cerwick concluded.

Headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, VP Racing Fuels has been an industry leader in race fuel technology and innovation since 1975, manufacturing fuels with a reputation for superior power and performance.  VP is the Official Fuel of NHRA Championship Drag Racing, American Le Mans, Rally America, World of Outlaws Sprint Cars and Late Models, among nearly 60 VP-sponsored series and sanctioning bodies.

VP'S M8-1 CONTRIBUTES TO TEAM USA WIN AT MOTOCROSS OF NATIONS

TEAM USA WITH RYAN DUNGEY WON MOTOCROSS OF NATIONS USING VP M8-1

TEAM USA SHOWED THE OTHER NINETEEN COMPETING COUNTRIES WHAT THEY WERE MADE OF AT THE 2010 MOTOCROSS OF NATIONS.

SEPTEMBER 27, 2010

LAKEWOOD, CO (SEPTEMBER 27, 2010) The United States loves its motocross and it was evident this past weekend at the Thunder Valley Motocross Park located in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. U.S. riders like Ryan Dungey, Trey Canard and Andrew Short took to the track and ended the weekend on the podium at the 2010 FIM Red Bull Motocross of Nations.

The talented, young U.S. athletes sporting their red, white and blue jerseys outperformed 19 other competing countries.  Andrew Short, using M8-1 and riding for Factory Honda, took 2nd in the final moto and 1st in the MX3 class, sealing the win for Team USA.

The competition was on the line during the last of three finals. Dungey snatched the #1 spot against 40 other competitors, fighting off Belgium and Germany while bringing the USA's Chamberlain Cup trophy numbers to six.

"Ryan just killed it (Sunday)," Canard said. "It was amazing to watch."

Dungey, who is a seasoned vet riding this series for the U.S., was indeed behind the overall success of the team by finishing first in both of his events (each competitor races in two of the three finals). This was a similar situation for Dungey at the 2009 finals in Italy.

"It was a lot of effort and a lot of hard work," said Dungey, a four-time AMA champion since turning pro in 2006. "Our team had to get together and make a game plan, and it seemed like we all worked together, which helped a lot. I thought it was pretty good here," Dungey said. "They did a fantastic job with the track layout, and the fans were awesome."

STRONG BIKE + STRONG RIDER = STRONG WINNING STREAK

HENRY WILES WINS 6TH STRAIGHT RACE AT PEORIA USING VP RACING'S C12

HENRY WILES DOMINATED THE WHOLE DAY AT PEORIA FOR THE AMA GRAND NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP CLAIMING HIS SIXTH STRAIGHT WIN.

  AUGUST 23, 2010

PEORIA, IL. (AUGUST 23, 2010) – There’s a reason why Henry Wiles has the #1 on his plates and VP’s C12 in his tank. This Michigan rider had no problem making Peoria TT a clear example of that this past weekend. Wiles dominated round 11 of the AMA Grand National Championship making it the sixth straight win for him at this Illinois venue! Now, Wiles has his eyes on the "Prince of Peoria" Chris Carr's record of eight in a row.

Wiles had himself a perfect day, not only posting the fastest qualifying time, but winning the fastest heat and leading all twenty five laps of the National. Wiles didn’t just squeak by for the checkered either, he finished in front of second place rider, Jared Mees, by over 11 seconds.

"Today was just one of the days that I think even if I would have gotten a little behind, I could have came through real quick," said Wiles. "I think we had that much going on today."

Any suspense was soon put to rest as the 18 rider National hit the first turn. "I got the perfect start and that always makes things easier. There's a lot that can go wrong in this race," said Wiles. "Fortunately the bike ran strong the whole time and there were no issues there mechanically.”

“There were a few times, because the track was a little bit sketchy, the bike was stepping it out or tucking the front a little bit here and there. I kind of wanted to look back just to see how I was doing. I know I had more in reserve and I was just trying to ride a smart race. I wanted to know if someone was there and if I should wick it up a little bit. Fortunately I didn't have to do that. We just rode a good race. The Monster Energy Kawasaki was running good today, that was probably the best bike we've had here yet."

MCGRATH TAKES HIS FIRST CAREER VICTORY IN TORC TRUCK SERIES AT BARK RIVER

JEREMY MCGRATH USED VP RACING FUELS LATE MODEL PLUS FOR HIS FIRST WIN

JEREMY MCGRATH, FORMER MOTOCROSS LEGEND, WON HIS FIRST TRAXXAS TORC SERIES RACE AT BARK RIVER RACEWAY.
  AUGUST 14, 2010

BARK RIVER, MI. (AUGUST 14, 2010) Jeremy McGrath is getting inducted into the Motorsports Hall of Fame very soon and he’s making sure that it’s not only on account of his legendary motocross career. While at the Chicagoland Speedway, McGrath won his first-ever PRO 2WD race leaving the class points leader, Rob MacCachren, behind him at Bark River International Raceway. McGrath roped this first win using VP’s Late model plus fuel.

“What do you say about this Bark River track?” said one excited McGrath from the winner’s podium after the race. “I think it’s one year to the day that Rob got me on the last lap and ended up winning that race. We finally got to seal the deal.

“I gotta say thanks to the whole Greaves team, Kurt and Johnny and Brad and the whole crew. I mean, all you guys have put in a lot of work for me and have been patient and I appreciate that. This is a weekend I’ve been waiting on for a long time, so what better place to have it than Bark River!”

Winning at Bark River gives McGrath a substantial points boost with contenders MacCachren wrecking early in the race and Chad Hord spinning out late in the game. Astonishingly, both MacCachren and Hord still managed to weave their way through the field to fight and victoriously obtain podium spots at Bark River.

Win # 2 Dollansky

Dollansky with commanding victory at Cedar Lake using VP Outlaw Fuel.

DOLLANSKY WITH SUPPORT OF HIS TEAM AND FAMILY TAKES PODIUM AT CEDAR LAKE.
  JULY 11, 2010

WIN #2 AT CEDAR LAKE COULDN’T FEEL ANY BETTER FOR DOLLANSKY
NEW RICHMOND, WI (JULY 11, 2010) Sure, Craig Dollansky got to stand on the podium and receive the recognition for a fantastic win Sunday night, but he always remembers to thank his team personally for their dedication and hard work. And a team effort it was as Dollansky Racing came out on top at Cedar Lake Speedway in Wisconsin to earn their second A-Feature win of the season with the series and Craig’s second career win at the high-banked 3/8-mile.

There were plenty attempting to chase Dollansky down over the course of this 30-lap contest. Jason Sides started on the pole and looked for the top spot at the green and Sammy Swindell moved into second attempting to challenge Dollansky. Then, Jason Meyers moved into the runner-up spot later in the race and got alongside the leader a couple of times just prior to the halfway points of the race.

"It feels great to win," said Dollansky. "We have a very strong team here and everyone works so hard and they certainly deserve to win. It's been a long time since we won a race this year and it's not from a lack of effort, that's for sure. It takes a lot of work to get that done. We had a good dash draw which helped as well, but when you have something like that you have to capitalize on it. I was trying to not give the race away. I feel like I have given a couple away this year and was trying not to beat myself."

Dollansky stayed in front for three restarts choosing the low line for the first two and moving to the top of the track for the final restart on the 14 th lap. He used a strong start each time to charge into turns one and two as the leader.

"I did not want to give it away," shared the veteran driver, when asked about the move to the top on the double file restart. "I was in the lead at Grand Forks (River Cities Speedway) and gave it away on that final restart and I didn't want to let my team down tonight. My team has worked hard and we have had a couple of races slip away by my fault and a couple of mechanical problems. This is a great team. It's great to win with a lot of family and friends here and with our car owner Tod Quiring in the house. I couldn't be happier for everyone involved."

Patrón Highcroft Racing

Pagenaud and Brabham take their 3rd straight win using VP Le Mans Racing Fuel.

AN EXCITED PATRON HIGHCROFT RACING TEAM CELEBRATES AFTER THEIR 3RD CONSECUTIVE AMERICAN LE MANS WIN.
JULY 11, 2010
THE 1ST, 2ND, AND 3RD TIME’S A CHARM FOR BRABHAM AND PAGENAUD

TOOELE, UT (JULY 11, 2010) Patrón Highcroft Racing (PHR) scored its third consecutive victory in the American Le Mans Series on Sunday with a hard-fought victory in the Larry H. Miller Dealerships Utah Grand Prix. Simon Pagenaud drove the final 1:45 in the team’s HPD ARX-01c, and the PHR crew took advantage of a quick final pit stop to beat Emanuele Pirro to the line by 19.116 seconds at Miller Motorsports Park.

“Coming in to this weekend we knew it would be the toughest race, so that’s what makes it so satisfying - having a package that is not as appealing as others on paper,” said David Brabham, Pagenaud’s teammate who drove the opening stint. “So to come here a bit against the odds shows what’s so special with this great team.  We were trying to decide what to do (for the last stop). We could watch what the others were going to do. We asked Simon if they (the Michelin tires) could go another 20 minutes and he said they`d do just fine and they did.”

Pagenaud, who qualified on pole position, and Brabham haven’t lost since the Long Beach round in April. Sunday’s victory was a hard-fought one considering a couple of disadvantages for the PHR car. The high altitude and long front-straight favored the bigger cars like the turbocharged prototypes in the field.

No problem for PHR’s dynamic duo, especially with quick pit work. The team’s final stop was 18 seconds quicker than the final stop for Drayson. Pagenaud pitted 19 minutes later, and the PHR crew short-filled the fuel tank with VP Racing Fuel. As a result, the team gained 18 seconds worth of advantage.

“Thanks to the PHR team for what they did in the pits,” Pagenaud said. “We were a bit loose from the lack of rear wing but we got it back toward the end. I kept pushing and kept pushing to make good lap times and I could then take the lead again during pit stops. Being able to take the win is just amazing.”

Daytona Beach

Kopp uses VP fuel approved by AMA Flat Track for win.

KOPP MADE ALL THE RIGHT LINES FOR A VICTORY AT I-96.

KOPP GIVES COMPETITION A RUN FOR THEIR MONEY AT I-96

DAYTONA BEACH, FL (JULY 11, 2010) AMA’s best of the best came to I-96 Speedway on Saturday to duke it out on the well-known half mile. Joe Kopp was tested at the beginning of the weekend, but overcame two restarts and took his #3 Harley to victory in round eight of the K&N Filters Grand National Championship.

Jake Johnson on his #5 bike took the hole shot on the first start, but could not duplicate it the second time around. "I knew I had to get out front and not make any mistakes," said Kopp. "I was the veteran, I should be able to keep the 'kids' behind me."

Kopp took command and pulled away from Johnson as his attention turned to a fight for 2nd with Kenny Coolbeth as the second red flag came out.

A single file restart saw Johnson looking to make an inside pass on the first turn, but his fate was sealed as Kopp maintained his walls. Coolbeth continued to put pressure on a 2nd place Johnson, but no better luck. Late in the game Sammy Halbert, Jared Mees and Chris Carr attempted to make it a six-way race, but after lap 22 the top positions were set.

Kopp, with a commanding lead, took the checkered. This win gives him a 13-point advantage over Johnson with Henry Wiles and Sammy Halbert just a few points behind.

BIG WIN

James Monroe wins NHRA Nationals with VP Methanol.

WINNER OF THE SUMMIT RACING NHRA NATIONALS, JAMES MONROE ROUNDS OUT HIS PERFECT RECORD FOR JUNE.
JULY 1, 2010
BIG WIN AT NATIONALS GRANTS MONROE THE PERFECT MONTH

BLOOMINGTON, IN (JULY 1, 2010) A solid month of victories: most racers dream of it, few see it come to life, but VP Racing Fuels driver James Monroe ended June with a perfect record of 13-0.  A flawless month in drag racing is quite the feat, but the fact that Monroe’s 13 th win took place at the Summit Racing Nationals in Norwalk, OH made it just that much sweeter.  Winning in one of NHRA's fastest classes, Top Dragster, Monroe now has a place on the books as one of the few drivers to ever post Top Dragster wins at both the divisional and national level.

At the Summit Racing Nationals, Monroe's car showcased dead-on consistency in his elapsed times despite track temperatures exceeding 130 degrees.

Monroe stated, "The car did exactly what I thought it would do all weekend from the opening qualifying pass on Thursday to the final round Sunday evening.  We work very hard to make this combination numb to atmospheric as well as track conditions and the extreme changes throughout the event played right into our hands."

Extreme changes were the perfect way to describe conditions for the final round. Rain clouds moved in and made for a slippery strip, but after four hours of attempts to dry the Ohio track, NHRA had the finals up and running once again.

"In the final I was fortunate enough that my opponent "turned it red" and I was able to run it through to see what it would have ran and we were essentially right on the dial-in.  It is a great feeling to finish a dream month with the biggest win of my career and I look forward to seeing how the remainder of the season plays out,” proclaimed an ecstatic Monroe.

Monroe looks to continue his torrid pace throughout July’s NHRA divisional events at Mid-Michigan Motorplex and National Trail Raceway.  Looking ahead, Monroe will attempt to defend his JEG'S Top Dragster Shootout crown he’s been holding since September 2008.

James Monroe continues to test VP Racing Fuels’ M1, M3 and M5 line of methanol fuels in his racecars as well as in dyno sessions with various engine builders.   Monroe is available to answer questions regarding these fuels and how they can help you achieve consistent success by dialing 812-327-1190 or visiting www.killerrons.com.
